In this paper, the fault diagnosis of battery systems in new energy vehicles is reviewed in detail. Firstly, the common failures of lithium-ion batteries are classified, and the triggering mechanism of battery cell failure is briefly analyzed. Next, the existing fault diagnosis methods are described and classified in detail.
However, the manufacturing defects, caused by production flaws and raw material impurities can accelerate battery degradation. In extreme cases, these defects may result in severe safety incidents, such as thermal runaway.
The current state, main technical approaches, and challenges of ultrasonic technology in battery defect and fault diagnosis are summarized. The prospect of ultrasound application in the field of batteries in the future is anticipated.
To ensure battery reliability, foreign object defect detection is commonly performed during the production and usage of batteries . Currently, there are several methods for battery defect detection: (1) Dismantling the battery to inspect internal defects . This method is costly and does not preserve the sample.
